I LOVE Maria’s classes, she is a fantastic teacher, steeped in dance and flamenco, she knows so much and teaches it so well AND her classes are also always fun! What a great combination. About the Hybrid classes: I’ve never seen anyone handle the tech part as well as Maria does, such a gift to those not able to attend in person. As for the Flamenco Flow classes, they are a delight. I’ve been dancing flamenco for quite a few years now and every class I get to focus on something, to make it better, and to increase my repertoire. Thank you Maria!
Outstanding teaching, great attention to technique, and incredibly valuable tips and guidance while keeping the class fun and relaxed!
I had a really exciting experience, learning how to dance flamenco. Karen is a wonderful dancer and also a great teacher. Thank you so much!
Beautiful class…Marel is an amazing teacher, she helps you in understanding the movement and making sure you get it right. Lovely class, very more advanced which is amazing.
Would love to go for the spring classes.
I absolutely love the Flow class! It gives us the opportunity to really focus on posture, learn to listen to compas, and just have lots of fun.
So fun, Karen is an awesome instructor! So thorough and fun!
Took the class through zoom. Really enjoyed the class! I loved the way Maria broke down the moves and steps!
Amazing classes, I learned a lot. I really like when we take time to perform strengthening exercises.
Looking forward to progress.
Awesome and tons of fun!
Very enjoyable. It adds quality moves, slow mo technique and special flamenco attitude to the dance. Very helpful.
It’s great to be able to learn technique without having to learn choreography (which is nice too, but this was a nice break). I feel like I’ve learned some things I can now pick up on easily when learning more advanced choreography.
This was an absolutely fabulous program! I can’t believe that I had the opportunity, in Nova Scotia ,to watch and take part in the creation and development of an authentic flamenco musician’s group. Leaning how the musicians and dancer work together cannot be taught without actually doing it. Who else but Maria Osende ,could come up with this concept and made it a reality.I am in awe of her vision and feel so privileged to have taken part.
Loved it and will continue to!
I looked forward to attending class every week! Learning the choreography was made easy thanks to Karen, our instructor, who patiently and thoroughly guided us every step of the way. Even after a 20-year break from dancing, I was able to keep up with the class. The atmosphere was incredibly friendly, and performing together at the recital brought me so much joy and excitement. It was an unforgettable experience!
Love Bulerias . My favourite flamenco palo. Learned alot in this class but the Bulerias journey never ends! Good song to dance to -strong compass easy to follow. Good choreography for my dance ability. Even basic moves have so much technique involved( not my strong point) and are challenging to stay on compass.(especially with speed) I liked the challenge of trying to do the dance on my own in class and not depend on following somebody. Although I can understand why some people are uncomfortable with this. It was like the few classes I took in Spain where the teacher would put me on the spot and say “ Now your turn to do it”. Yikes!
Absolutely love being in ballet class! Always a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
So interesting and such an enigmatic rhythm. A wonderful class.
I especially liked this class because of the combination of technique and choreography, which didn’t seem too overwhelming. I’m pleasantly surprised that I actually feel quite confident for the performance on Saturday.
