Ballet Beyond - Osende Dance Arts

This was my first ballet experience with Maria at Danspace. Her classes have been incredibly helpful for my fitness goals and have improved both my physical and mental well-being. Maria is passionate, fun, and detail-oriented. It’s also been great meeting and working with different people in class. Highly recommend!

Marel is a fantastic teacher. I like that she teaches specific skills like pirouettes, and she breaks them down so we can learn them. The class is fun and we learn so much.

I had to be away from Halifax for three weeks during the Beginner 1 course, and I really missed our classes.

Every Tuesday, I found myself thinking of Maria and Marel; you both have become such an important part of my week and a cherished routine for me.

I was quite nervous coming back for the final class because I was sure Maria would notice that I hadn’t practiced for three weeks! 😅 I am now committed to practicing consistently so that I don’t lose my body memory before the August sessions begin.

Thank you both for always teaching us with such warmth and kindness. ❤️

It was a very fun, disciplined, and rewarding experience as usual. It was valuable for me in every aspect of my life. Thank you so much again to our teachers, Maria and Marel. They are fabulous! I really look forward to seeing you all again in our next classes in August.

Another fantastic class! Maria is so warm, funny and incredibly careful as a teacher. Plus I feel really lucky to have such a superb dancer as a teacher. Watching her demo exercises, or steps, or passages of dance is just inspiring, and also really enjoyable. Maria’s the best!

I loved our classes! Marel is a phenomenal teacher! I love that she keeps pushing us to get to a higher level and at the same time makes the class a lot of fun. :) Excellent, hands-on corrections for everyone individually That makes you learn so much faster. Great energy. I look forward to the next semester!

I love this class. It’s challenging but there’s no pressure. Marel is a really good teacher. She makes it fun but we are learning at the same time.

Marel’s class is fantastic! She is an amazing teacher who clearly points out where the muscles are felt, which is beneficial for beginners. I would definitely take Marel’s class again.

My only suggestion would be to leave some space for questions between exercises.

Overall, it was an amazing experience!

Joined the absolute beginners class with no previous ballet experience, continued to this one, and absolutely loved it! Maria is a brilliant instructor and teaches a great balance of foundational technique & musicality. The classes have really helped to re-ignite my love for dance, and I look forward to learning more in the future. Would highly recommend!

I was so happy to attend classes of Flamenco School. I was a beginner, but Karen explained and showed every movement in detail. I always got help and support. Plus it iwas just a lot of fun.

I didn’t know it could be so expressive.

This class was absolutely wonderful. I did not manage to make each class as I would have preferred, but I thoroughly enjoyed the classmates, their enthusiasm and how they embraced Marias beautiful choreography.
The choreography engaged so much detail that would be relevant for what we are learning technically at this point and level of study.
Just a joy to study and engage with the other classmates to perform Maria’s choreography in our school recital.
